A classic ground beef taco recipe done right. You can't go wrong with these easy beef tacos. Children love it and adults crave it. This recipe is easy to make, and its also easy to adjust to your personal taste by mixing up the toppings you use. The ground beef in this recipe goes great as a topping for nachos or burritos, so feel free to increase the amount of meat you use (just make sure to also increase the amount of taco seasoning you use as well).

A simple, classic ground beef taco recipe. One of the easiest taco recipes to make and it tastes great every time.
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 onion, minced
  • 3 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon coriander
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1/2 cup canned tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup low sodium chicken broth
  • 2 teaspoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon light brown sugar
  • 1 avocado, chopped
  • 1 tomato, chopped
  • 1/2 head of lettuce, chopped
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 1/2 cups of sharp cheddar cheese, grated
  • tortillas / taco shells
  1. Cook the minced onion in an oiled medium frying pan at medium heat until the onion sweats. Stir occasionally.
  2. Mix the chili powder, cumin, coriander, oregano, cayenne pepper, and salt well, and add them to the frying pan.
  3. Add the garlic, and stir for about a minute
  4. Add the ground beef
  5. Vigorously break up the ground beef and cook until mostly browned.
  6. Add the tomato sauce, chicken broth, apple cider vinegar, and sugar.
  7. Salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Simmer on medium-high heat uncovered for 5-10 minutes, or until the sauce reduces.
  9. Mix and serve in warm tortillas/taco shells with desired amounts of avocado, tomatoes, lettuce, sour cream and cheese.
