Satisfying flavors from the beer batter and the crispy texture make this fish taco recipe an instant hit.
  • 1 lb white fish filets, cut into 1 inch thick pieces
  • 1 cup dark beer
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon coriander
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, diced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 lime
  • vegetable oil, for deep frying
  • 1 cup of sharp Cheddar cheese, grated
  • Tortillas / Taco shells
  • 1 avocado, chopped
  • 1 tomato, chopped
  • cup sour cream
  • 1 head of lettuce, chopped
  • Tobasco Sauce
  1. In a medium sized bowl, mix the flour, chili powder, cumin, coriander, oregano, cayenne pepper, and salt
  2. Add beer and mix well
  3. Heat 1/2″ of heavy frying pan to 360 degrees (note: If oil isn’t hot enough, the beer batter will not stick)
  4. Dip white fish pieces into the beer batter and carefully place in frying pan
  5. Brown both sides and remove
  6. Dry on a blanket of paper towels
  7. Sprinkle cilantro and squeeze lime juice over the fish before serving
  8. Serve in warm tortillas/taco shells with desired amounts of avocado, tomatoes, lettuce, sour cream and cheese.
